How Penggu Korea Pay works

Korean payroll rules are published almost entirely in Korean, and they change every year. Penggu Korea Pay takes the official numbers, such as the Ministry of Employment and Labor's minimum wage notice, the National Pension Service and National Health Insurance Service rates, and the National Tax Service withholding table, and turns them into tools and explanations in English.

The take-home pay calculator reproduces the official simplified withholding tax table and is tested against its published values to the won. The same engine runs the Korean-language site 펭ꡬ 월급계산기, which Korean workers use.

Results are estimates for typical situations. Your payslip depends on how your employer reports your pay, your visa and your nationality. If something looks wrong, compare it line by line using the payslip guide.
