About Penggu Korea Pay

Penggu Korea Pay helps foreigners working in Korea understand and check their own pay, in English.

Why it exists

Hi, I'm Minhyeong Lee. My nickname is Penggu, so a penguin became the mascot of my calculator sites. I first built 펭구 월급계산기 for Korean workers, and then realised that the people who most need clear answers about Korean pay, such as English teachers, engineers, researchers and factory workers, often cannot read the Korean sources. This site brings the same calculations to them.

Accuracy and limits

Rates are updated as soon as possible after they change, and every page shows when it was last updated. Results are still estimates and are not legal or tax advice. For your own case, contact the National Tax Service (126), the National Pension Service (1355), the National Health Insurance Service (1577-1000) or the Ministry of Employment and Labor (1350), all of which offer English support.
