How the F-2-7 points work
The F-2-7 is a points-based residence visa. It lets you live in Korea for 1 to 5 years at a time, work for any employer, and is a common step toward permanent residence (F-5). You need 80 points. Common items are worth up to 130 points and bonus points up to 40.

Income is what your tax office income certificate shows for the previous year. Use the take-home pay calculator to see what that income means per month.
How long you can stay
With 80 points or more, your first stay depends on your score or your income, whichever gives the longer period: 130+ points or ₩60M+ income: 5 years · 120+ or ₩50M+: 3 years · 110+ or ₩40M+: 2 years · otherwise 1 year.
You also need an eligibility route
Points alone are not enough. Most applicants qualify by holding an eligible professional visa (E-1 to E-7-1, or D-5 to D-9) for 3 consecutive years; the 3 years are waived if your annual income is ₩40M or more. Other routes include working for a KOSPI/KOSDAQ-listed company, or holding a Korean master's degree with a qualifying job. See the F-2-7 guide for the full list.
